How do I contact Slack?
Slack provides customer support primarily through email and live chat channels. For email inquiries, you can reach out to feedback@slack.com . If you prefer live chat communication, you can access the chat button at the bottom of their website at https://slack.com/intl/en-sk/ .
If you prefer social media communication, Slack maintains active accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, where you can leave messages and get assistance from their team.
Common problems and solutions
How to recover my password?
- Visit slack.com/signin
- Enter your email address and click ‘Sign in with Email"
- Check your inbox for a Slack confirmation code.
- Enter the code on the sign-in page, then select the workspace you’d like to sign in to.
- Follow the steps in the next section to ‘Add a password"
I lost access to the email address on my account
For security purposes, you must be able to access the email inbox associated with your Slack account to reset your password. If that’s not possible, ask an owner or admin to update the email address linked to your account.
What to do if I have trouble with Slack calls?
Slack audio, video and screensharing test can help identify problems you may be having while on a Slack call. After running the test, use the troubleshooting information to address any issues flagged in your results. Here’s how to run the test:
- From your desktop, open a channel or direct message (DM), then click your profile picture in the top right.
- Select ‘Preferences" from the menu.
- Click “Audio & video” in the left-side column.
- Below “Troubleshooting”, click “Run an audio, video and screensharing test”. The test will open in a new window.
- Check that your preferred speaker, microphone and camera devices appear in the drop-down menus, then click “Start test”.
Resolve connection problems
- Make sure you’re on the latest version of the Slack desktop app. If not, update your app
- If you’re having trouble with calls on the desktop app, open your workspace in Google Chrome and try making a call.
- If calls aren’t connecting from the desktop app or browser, try starting a call from the Slack mobile app on the same Wi-Fi network.
How do I install App in Slack?
To add apps to your workspace:
- Go to ‘Apps" in the left sidebar.
- Search for the app and click “Add”.
- Click “Add to Slack”.
- Follow the prompts to install the app.
Workspace Owners can turn on app approval to require admin approval for all apps. Members can install any apps approved by a Workspace Owner, and may request approval for other apps. Apps in the Slack App Directory have been reviewed by Slack for user experience and security. Any app not listed in the App Directory will display a banner letting you know it hasn’t been reviewed by Slack before you install it.
To request app approval:
- Go to ‘Apps" in the left sidebar.
- Search for the app you’d like to request and click ‘Add".
- Click “Add to Slack”.
- Add a custom message with more context about your request.
- Click “Submit” to send your request. You’ll receive a direct message from Slackbot once it’s been reviewed.
