How to recover my password?
Recovering a lost Reddit password
- Go to Reddit’s login page.
- Under the ‘Sign In" button, click “Sign In”.
- Input your username and email (this must be the email that’s currently linked to the account).
- Click ‘Email Me".
- Check your email inbox. You should have received an email from Reddit. In the email, click “Create Password”.
- You’ll be sent to a page where you can input and confirm your new password. Make sure you choose a strong password — you can use our password generator for ideas.
- Click ‘Set Password".
If you’ve forgotten your username, the process is almost exactly the same. Just click ‘Forgot Username" instead of “Forgot Password”.
I made a mistake in my submission title, how can I edit it?
Submission titles cannot be edited. However, you can simply delete it and resubmit it. The sooner you do this, the less likely you will lose any votes or comments.
Why don’t my submissions show up on the New page?
Reddit has a spam filter designed to detect spam posts and automatically remove them. However, legitimate posts are often caught by the filter. If a few minutes go by and your post isn’t showing up on the new page of the community where you posted, it has probably been caught by the filter. This is most likely to occur if you are posting to a community that you have not participated in before.
In order to remove your post from the filter you need to message the moderators and ask them to check the filter for you. Eventually the filter will ’learn" that your posts don’t need to be removed.
How to deactivate and delete a Reddit account?
Website: Log into your account and go to ‘User Settings," and scroll all the way down. There will be an option of “Deactivate Account” click on it, and you’ll be taken to another page. Put in your login details here and click on ‘Deactivate."
Mobile: Go to “Settings”, " scroll down and select “Help Center.” This will take you to the Reddit help page. Type in the word “Deactivate” and search. You will come across the question regarding deleting the account and just follow the instructions to deactivate your account permanently.
How to view NSFW on the Reddit app?
Not Safe for Work or NSFW communities has strict rules, and you should be above 18 to view them.
Website: Log into your account; you will see an arrow pointing downwards in the top right-hand corner. Click on it and go to “User Settings.” Now go to the “Feed Settings” option and turn the notch on for “Adult Content.”
Mobile: Tap on your avatar at the top left corner and go to “Settings.” In the “View Options” section, turn on the “Show NSFW content (I’m over 18) button.
How to delete messages on Reddit?
Website: It is preferred to use a desktop login to delete the messages. Just click on the settings button on the top right of the message you want to delete and then tap on the leave button to delete the message.
Mobile: If you are using an app, just press and hold or slide the message and select the ‘Leave Message” option.
How to change Reddit username?
Keep in mind that once you have chosen a username, it will remain the same forever. You can only change the username once, so be mindful of what you want to be called. You will only get this option with a new account and the existing profile owners don’t have the perk to change their usernames.
